Restore.   Rebuild.   Redeem.

Armed with resilience and hope, Principal Michael McGrone Sr. left his abusive and violent childhood in Gary, Indiana with a 1.2 GPA and enrolled as a homeless student his freshman year at a community college.

After graduating with a Masters in Educational Administration with a 3.8 GPA, Michael pursued his passion for redeeming the lives of at-risk students in some of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods.

Principal McGrone has been recognized as a school turnaround expert by drawing upon his Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) while leveraging the Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) approach to transform lives, schools, and communities. He has been awarded Chicago's Unsung Hero Award for his positive community impact and honored by Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Push Coalition with Excellence in Teaching Award.
